Properties:

  • innovative technology – bolus consist of two parts which are characterized by different composition and different time of release. All ingredients are digestable
  • best source of energy – propionates as glucogenic sources are effectively absorbed from the rumen and converted to glucose, they faster recovery energy balance in comparison with other energy sources. Propionates also create an effective buffer system, restoring the proper pH of the rumen
  • high amount of Vitamin A, Vitamin E and Selenium – this additives reduce the risk of retained placenta and risk of mastitis after calving. These antioxidants reduce oxidative stress which occurs due to intensive oxidation of free fatty acids excessively released from adipose tissue at the start of lactation. They protect liver’s and immune cells from harmful effect of free radicals
  • effective dose of niacin – increases concentration of glucose in the liver and reduces the level of ketone compounds in the blood. Niacin plays important role in synthesis of L-carnitine, without which free fatty acids cannot be transported throw the mitochondrial membrane. Oxidation of free fatty acids takes place in mitochondrion, thus deficit of transporter provides to accumulation of fat in the liver
  • addition of Cobalt – is important for developing bacteria flora in the rumen, it is also essential component for vitamin B12 synthesis. Conversion of propionates to glucose can’t occur with Vit. B12 deficiency
  • introduces Saccharomyces cerevisiae into the rumen which have a beneficial influence on ruminal microflora and gastrointestinal tract health

Composition:

Sodium and calcium propionate, niacinamide, vitamin A, vitamin E, vitamin B12, sodium selenite, cobalt sulphate, live yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

Instruction for proper use:

To reduce the risk of ketosis in dairy cows, administer 1 bolus into the mouth using an applicator the day before or on the day of calving. Repeat administration after a few hours. The bolus can also be used from 3 weeks before calving to 6 weeks after calving.

Shelf life:

18 months from the manufacturing date.

Packaging:

Each 135 g bolus is secured in a plastic tube.
